Archive of Skin

Rooted in my experience with skin allergies, my work uses discomfort to explore empathy, identity, and prejudice through the metaphor of skin. By creating interactive pieces that can be touched or worn, I invite viewers to confront their own biases through physical experience. My practice moves from personal pain toward shared connection, using vulnerability as a bridge across boundaries.

Breaking Conformity

This project traces my journey toward emotional honesty as I move between societies shaped by different expectations. Growing up in Korea, I learned to suppress strong emotions for the sake of harmony, often hiding behind restraint, but after moving to the United States, I began questioning conformity and exploring authentic self-expression. Through my art, muted uniformity gradually transforms into vibrant individuality, unfolding like a tightly closed bud finally blooming.
